It is vital for PR practitioners to be up-to-date, organized and bold. Similarly, it is important for PR pros to rest when needed

Regarding #1, perhaps the first and foremost goal should be to find out what management WANTS and FEARS. The second is so you can either pre-emptively but unobtrusively whack those whom management is worried about or else help the feared to see not just old media and new media but the handwriting on the wall.

The final measure, perhaps #5, is to use the wisdom of Katie Paine–or Katie herself if she likes you enough so you can afford a bit of her time–to help you show management your RESULTS.

Those who would stand out in 2020 should stand up and be counted, and perhaps one can be counted on more than Katie Paine to help management see how the job you did for the company was terrific in two ways. By your helping to attain management’s goals and your helping to avert management’s fears.

Quarterbacks may become hugely successful partly because of linemen who block opponents. PR quarterbacks attain similar success partly because of Paine’s or similar wisdom on helping management see the truth.
